There is a saying that says β€œAn apple a day keeps the doctor away”, indeed it does because this wonderful fruit has a great impact on our health. Apples are known for their sweet, delicious, and refreshing taste, they are one of the most popular and widely consumed fruits in the world, according to history, apples were first discovered in Europe and Asia before they started spreading to other countries. Apple has a lot of benefits for our health:

  • Aids in weight management: Apples are high in fibre and low in calories which makes them a filling fruit, it also helps in the control of appetite and helps to manage weight.
  • They are high in nutrients: Apples are packed with important vitamins and minerals such as potassium, fibre and vitamin C. These nutrient plays an important role in our health.
  • It boosts the immune system: regular consumption of apples strengthens the immune system. Apples are a good source of vitamin C known for their immune-boosting properties. Regular consumption of apples reduces the risk of several sicknesses like cancer, diabetes, constipation, diarrhoea, and heart diseases.
  • They promote heart health: Apples are rich in antioxidants, especially flavonoids, which can help reduce the risk of heart disease by preventing the oxidation of LDL(low-density lipid) cholesterol.
  • They improve the skin: they help to guard the skin against oxidative stress which is the harmful effects of free radicals in the environment. They also contain nutrients which help to repair damaged skin from the harsh effects of UV rays and air pollution.
