Have you ever wondered what causes malaria? Because it has been one of the ancient sicknesses that we all know. Some said it’s caused by exposing yourself to the sun, and some said by drinking dirty water, well, this is what malaria is.
Malaria is an infection of the blood caused by a plasmodium parasite, which is spread to people through the bite of a female anopheles mosquito. The mosquito sucks up the malaria parasites in the blood of an infected person and injects them into the next person it bites.

Signs of the malaria parasite.
- Pain in the muscles or abdomen.

- Nausea or vomiting.

- Fast heart rate.
- Pale skin.
- Headache.

- Fever.

- Fatigue.
- Chills.
- Shivering.
- Sweating.

How can the malaria parasite be prevented?
- Clear all drainage because mosquitoes live on stagnant water.

- Use of mosquito bed nets, and use of insect repellent on exposed skin.

- Wear long-sleeved clothing and long pants if you are outside at night.

- Spray insecticide in your room before going to bed.

How can malaria be treated?
Firstly, malaria can be cured with prescription drugs. The type of drugs and length of treatment depend on the type of malaria, the age, whether they are pregnant, and how sick they are at the start of treatment.
